Though Michigan has gone into full blown “submarine mode” during their fall camp, one of the consistent “bubbles” that has emerged has been the play of freshmen WR Grant Perry.
According to Wolverine247’s Steve Lorenz’s sources, Perry has been a stand out at receiver so far in camp and has been taking “slot reps exclusively with the first team” ($).
Other Michigan insiders have been hearing the same and, while you have to take all information from sources with a grain of salt, the Big Ten Network’s Dave Revsine was on hand at camp today and backed it all up:
I'd be surprised if Grant Perry doesn't contribute some at WR. Tough to tell on Brian Cole – kind of up and down

With all of the reports, I reached out to one of his high school coaches to see if the hype is real and he let me know that not only will he play, but he’s expected to “make some noise” this year. He also talked about his work mentality, saying he’s “tremendous and a tireless worker”, which, to me, sounds like a perfect fit for a team coached by Jim Harbaugh.
So, make sure to keep an eye on #9 on September 3rd vs Utah. He’ll be the shorter guy taking reps in the slot.
