Ten Michigan Players Drafted, Two More Sign Free Agent Deals

The 2020 NFL Draft has come and gone and it was a good weekend for the Michigan football program. Though 8 of its 10 picks were on the final day of the draft, only three programs in the country have produced more draft picks than Jim Harbaugh’s program.

Since the arrival of Harbaugh, 31 Wolverines have been drafted into the NFL, including 5 first round picks. In the five years prior to that, Michigan only had 13 total draft picks and just 1 first rounder.

So, things are clearly going better for the maize and blue. Next stop is getting the elite level draft picks on a more consistent basis similar to Ohio State, which tied UM with 10 total picks in this draft but included 3 first rounders and 4 day two picks.

That doesn’t take away from what Harbaugh and the staff produced in the 2020 draft. This is huge on the recruiting trail and should continue for the foreseeable future.

Check out Michigan’s 2020 NFL Draft picks and undrafted free agent signings:

Shea Patterson remains the only name sitting out on the market. If he doesn’t get signed, he’ll likely get a camp tryout.

Michigan produced 12 new NFL players in 2020. 2021 could be another good year with a lot of young talent that could make that early leap to the league.
