New Michigan Man: QB Brandon Peters

Finally! Harbaugh has finally landed his first commitment for the 2016 class and it was a huge one. Four star Avon (IN) quarterback Brandon Peters has committed to Michigan during his visit this weekend.

Peters is a big, athletic, pocket passer that also happens to be a standout basketball player. He has a very similar playing style to, dare I say, Andrew Luck (though Jedd Fisch compared him to Peyton Manning). They both have the ability to make plays on the run and throw a very accurate and catchable ball. With some Harbaugh tutelage, I believe he’ll be a great player for Michigan throughout his career.

The Avon two-sport star’s recruitment was very quiet and simple. After landing his offer from Michigan back on February 9th, most believed he was bound for the Maize and Blue, as long as they didn’t pick someone up before he got on campus. And they were right. Peters pulled the trigger within hours of getting on campus for the first time.

  • Height: 6’5″
  • Weight: 205lbs
  • Notable Offers: LSU, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Nebraska
  • Rankings: Scout (4*, #20 QB) – Rivals (4*, #211 overall) – 247Sports (4*, #272 overall) – ESPN (4*, #181 overall)

As for the Rest of the Class: Peters is the 3rd member of the class that is already being called the #Fab25. So, it looks like the staff is planning on bringing in a full class. That means there is a ton of room left, but this will very likely be the only QB commitment.

Peters is the first of likely multiple commits from the spring game visitors. Look for the Farmington duo FB David Reese and WR Dez Fitzpatrick to possibly join him before the end of the weekend. Other names to watch are OG Michael Onwenu, LB Jonathan Jones and RB Kingston Davis.
