New Michigan Man: LB Dytarious Johnson

I was expecting one surprise commitment to happen during the satellite camps but this was not the move I thought would happen. Michigan has landed it’s 10th commitment of the 2016 class and 3rd satellite camp commitment in Prattville (AL) LB Dytarious Johnson.

Johnson is a hard nosed linebacker that has the athleticism and speed to make plays from sideline to sideline. Along with LB commit Dele Harding, Michigan has two stout inside backers that have a chance to be vey good in Durkin’s defense. Look out for both Johnson and Harding in the future.

This was one of the more random commitments of the class as Johnson pulled the trigger right after receiving his offer from the Wolverine coaching staff. His offer list isn’t stacked in the least bit as his biggest offers were from Memphis and Troy but Michigan was one of the only big schools to see him up close and personal. Working with him at the satellite camp was all the staff needed to see.

Height: 6’0”

Weight: 215lbs.

Notable Offers: Memphis, Troy, Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Alabama State

Rankings: Scout (NR) – Rivals (2*) – 247 (NR) – ESPN (NR)

As for the Rest of the Class: With Johnson on board, it really questions the number of linebackers that will be added to the class. Michigan is in fantastic shape with four top ranked backers, including Dontavious Jackson, Devin Bush Jr, Jonathan Jones and Camilo Eifler. While they have a great shot to land all of them, Michigan likely only has room for 2 more interior linebackers, at best.
