New Michigan Man: DL Dominick Giudice Commits to Michigan

After getting its first commitment in 10 months, the Michigan coaches welcomed their second pledge of the day as three-star 2021 Mater Dei (NJ) DL Dominick Giudice has committed to Michigan soon after receiving his offer from the staff.

Commitment

Scouting Report

Giudice is an intriguing prospect that you can understand why Don Brown and the staff wanted as soon as you flip on his junior tape. With a quick first step and already tipping the scales over 250lbs, he can get into the backfield and make a play in a hurry. He may not wow you with his athleticism and has to work on his technique but the raw talent and frame are there. It may take a couple of years to develop him into a full-time contributor but this is the type of prospect I see becoming a productive player and a fan favorite by the time he leaves the program.

Recruitment

Every class has surprise commitments but it’s become a staple of the Jim Harbaugh era. He trusts his coach’s eye for talent and potential and that’s what you get here with Giudice.

Holding offers from damn near every top university and institution in the country, including Yale, Harvard, Princeton, and all of the military institutions. So you know the character and brains are there. What you also know is there is the potential as he not only received an offer from the staff following his junior tape evaluation but they accepted his commitment as well.

That’s how quickly his recruitment happened. A lifelong Michigan fan, it clearly wasn’t a tough decision to accept the offer from the staff. He joins the class as the first defensive addition and the fourth commitment overall.
