New Michigan Man Again: S Daxton Hill Flips Back to Michigan

In one of the most interesting recruitments in recent memory, Michigan just re-landed its former top ranked commit as 2019 Booker T. Washington (OK) S Daxton Hill has flipped his commitment from Alabama to Michigan just over a week after flipping his commitment from the Wolverines to the Crimson Tide.

Commitment

Hill is a dynamo of a football prospect. He would arguably be a five-star at both safety or wide receiver, but it’ll be the defensive side of the ball where he’ll make a living for the Wolverines.

As for what the hell happened here in this recruitment, there have been several reports on Hill’s surprise flip to the Crimson Tide in early December. Most of which came from Michigan’s side of things where the positivity of him ending up in Ann Arbor maintained. While it may have been a couple of different things that led Hill to shocking the college football recruiting world with his original flip, it looks like a big part of it was some faulty info about the rumors surrounding Jim Harbaugh and Don Brown.

Both of Michigan’s elite coaches were tied to head coaching openings following the brutal end to the 2019 season. While only Brown’s had real legs to it, neither are expected to leave Ann Arbor anytime soon. It’s clearly why Harbaugh, Warde Manuel and others have come out to vehemently deny those rumors. That move was important for all recruits but it really shows how good of a prospect Daxton Hill is.

Either way, the storm was fought and Michigan ended up swinging the five-star back to Ann Arbor as Hill flipped back to the Wolverines and signed with the program on Early Signing Day, giving the program one of its best individual gets and overall classes in the last 20 years.

Be happy, Michigan fans. Hill is a future star.
