New Michigan Man!: 5* WR George Campbell

There are plenty of rival fans wondering whether Michigan is \”back\” yet. Well, if recruiting has anything to do with it (and yes it does. Example: Alabama), then the Wolverines are back. And just proved it again with the commitment of the #3 overall player and #1 WR and ATH in the 2015 class, George Campbell!

Seen as the best athlete and one of the best players in the 2015 class, Campbell is another cornerstone commitment that has and will send shockwaves through the recruiting world, just like Jabrill Peppers\’ pledge did.

Campbell is a 6\’4 receiver and defensive end that ran the fastest 40 yard dash at the 2013 Opening as a junior at 4.36 (also ran 4.37). This speed will be used as a go-to target for Wolverines as he will be a wide receiver.

The commitment does not come as a shock but more the timing. Most of the time, a top level prospect like Campbell waits to visit all of the top programs before making his decision. However, he fell in love with Ann Arbor, the coaching staff, and program overall on his first visit and has been seen as a Michigan lean for quite sometime. That loved turned into a commitment at July\’s BBQ at the Big House. And now he is the poster boy of this class, that shows the rest of the world that Ann Arbor is a great place for prospects all over the country and shows the haters that Michigan is back and here to stay.

Height: 6\’4\”

Weight: 185lbs

40 Yard Dash: 4.36

Rankings:

Scout: NR – Rivals: NR – ESPN: (#1 WR, #3 overall) 247: (#1 WR, #17 overall)

As for the Rest of the Class

Just like Jabrill Peppers and Shane Morris, Campbell is a prospect and commitment that will attract just about every player in the country. He already knowingly helped the chances with plenty of the big names of 2015 including #1 overall prospect, DE Jashon Cornell and #231 overall prospect, RB Jacques Patrick.

With Campbell, OL Jon Runyan Jr and K Andrew David committed, Project 136 is off to a phenomenal start and could become even better than the 2013 and 2014 class if it lands it\’s top targets like Cornell, Patrick, #7 overall DT Tim Settle, #14 overall DT Hjate Froholdt, #20 overall RB Damien Harris, #38 overall CB Minkah Fitzpatrick, #49 overall CB Shaun Crawford and #51 overall DE Joshua Alabi.

And now Campbell has over a year and a half to recruit them all to Ann Arbor.
