New Michigan Man!: 5 Star PF Mitch McGary

Today is a great day for Michigan basketball as the #1 power forward and the #2 overall prospect in the 2012 class, Mitch McGary has committed to play basketball for Coach John Beilein and the University of Michigan.

At 6\’11\” 250lbs, McGary is the big, talented post player that can do it all. He is a very talented shooter from all over the court, including 3 point range. He can work the post with quick and powerful move. He can posterize defenders with highlight and thunderous dunks (broke the glass/backboard at the Elite 24). Also, the kid can run the floor, play defense, and rebound like an animal. One of the best things that the maize and blue faithful will love is his hard work and effort he gives on every play.As the best big man in the country, McGary is the most talented recruit that the Michigan basketball program has landed since Chris Webber, and the highest ranked prospect since 1999.

What I love about this kid is that he is the elite prospect that this program needs to push it over the edge. Also, he said that he wants to bring a national championship to Michigan next year. That is something that the haters (aka sparty) will complain about, but us Wolverine fans love!Michigan landed this talented prospect thanks to many different factors. For one, McGary loves and trusts the coaching staff. He also said that he already feels the love from the current players and the future players. 4 Star SF prospect Glenn Robinson III has been playing with him on their AAU team and they happen to be best friends and future roommates.

As for the rest of the class, this is already a top 5 recruiting class for 2012. With the #2 prospect PF Mitch McGary, the #52 prospect SF Glenn Robinson III, and the #83 prospect SF Nik Stauskas, Michigan should be set for this class.
