New Michigan Man!: 4* OLB Chase Winovich

After star linebacker, Jake Ryan, went down with an ACL injury, Michigan found out how important having depth at every position really was, as their wasn\’t very much depth behind the All-Big Ten player. So, they made it a point of emphasis to bring in a strong side linebacker in the 2014 class. That guy has now committed. Welcome 3* OLB Chase Winovich to Team 135!

Known as an O$U lean and fan growing up, Winovich seemed like a very hard pull for Brady Hoke. However, with a high need at strong-side linebacker, a perfect fit in Ann Arbor, and the Buckeyes bringing in multiple linebackers, Chase decided to go blue over O$U and his hometown, Pitt.

The Keystone State linebacker is a long, athletic, and instinctive linebacker that would fit in great at the SAM in Mattison\’s defense. With some weight training and coaching, he could replace Ryan and the defense wouldn\’t skip a beat.

Highlights

As for the Rest of the Class:

As commitment #11, the class is filling up quickly. There are about 6-9 spots remaining and, like always, the staff will be very picky on who they take. The top targets remaining are Da\’Shawn Hand, Malik McDowell, Adoree Jackson and Parrker Westphal. This is getting crazy and another HUGE commitment could be happening here in early June. Stay tuned!
