New Michigan Man!: 3* WR Maurice \”Moe\” Ways

Michigan is a school that has produced some amazing wide receivers, in both the college and pro ranks. However, afte Rich Rod, they have struggled to bring in big time receivers. Not anymore. Now, they have landed their 2nd, extremely talented receiver that can stretch the field, after 3* Country Day WR Moe Ways has committed to Michigan!

After waiting quite awhile, Ways finally received an offer from his childhood favorite team and decided to commit. It is the dream situation for a big (6\’4\’\’ 190lbs), fast receiver that fits the Michigan WR mold and has the chance to become a star in the system. He has good hands, speed, and an ability to stretch the field better than most. With a D1 caliber QB in Tyler Wiegers (Rutgers commit) he shows what he can do with talent behind center.

I believe the only reason he is a 3* recruit is because scouts want to see more of him at camps and because of the fact that he plays against a lower level in high school. However, after some camps and when scouts see him scorch defensive backs for another year, he will land a 4th star.

Rankings:

Scout (3*, #50 WR) – Rivals (3*, #54 WR) – ESPN (NR) – 247 (3*, #86 WR)

Offers: (More will come during the summer)

Iowa, Kansas, Rutgers, Toledo, Western Michigan, Ball State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan.

Highlights

As for the Rest of The Class

The coaches told Ways that they would take two more receivers to bring it to a total of 4, I would guess the final two spots would be between Scott, Williams, Dupre, and Holmes. With only 16-20 spots available in the class and Ways being the 6th commit, Michigan will turn it\’s focus to it\’s biggest needs and targets. That includes WR Artavis Scott, WR KJ Williams, WR Corey Holmes, CB Jabrill Peppers, CB Parrker Westphal, LB Chase Winovich, and DE Da\’Shawn Hand.
