Michigan Receives Expected #1 Seed in 2021 NCAA Tournament

Though it was a shaky ending to the season and in the Big Ten tournament, that didn’t stop the committee from rewarding Michigan with a #1 seed in the 2021 tournament. That was thanks to being the regular season champions of the best conference in the country (CC: Illinois administration and fans).

Michigan is atop the East region and will take on the winner of the 16 seed play-in game between Mount St. Mary’s and Texas Southern. With a win, the Wolverines would advance to face the winner of St. Bonaventure and LSU in round 2, which would be one to watch. The East region also features #2 seed Alabama, #3 seed Texas, #4 seed Florida State, as well as Michigan State who will take on UCLA in the #11 seed play-in game.
