Michigan Offers Three 2016 Running Backs

With only one running back expected to be apart of the 2015 recruiting class, expect the coaching staff to take multiple backs in 2016. And they have gotten off to a great start with several of the top prospects, including their latest offers: Kentrail Moran, Robert Washington and Antonio Williams.

Moran is a four star back out of O\’Fallon, Illinois that has already came out and said Michigan is his leader after the offer. His mix of hard nosed, in-between the tackle running and vision make him one of the most talented backs in the country and a perfect fit for Nussmeier\’s offense.

Washington is one of the most talented backs and players in the country (ranked 117th overall in the ESPN 300), has visited Ann Arbor four times and happens to have a ton of interest in the Wolverines. He told Scout\’s Eric Rutter ($) that this offer was one he was waiting on.

The former North Carolina commit, Williams is a back that the staff has been very high on for awhile. Coach Manning has a fantastic relationship with him and it looks like it has helped the Wolverines join the top contenders for his signature. He told 247\’s Steve Lorenz ($) that he plans on visiting during or after the season this fall.

Blessed to receive an offer from Michigan 〽️ — Antonio Williams (@A_B_Williams34) July 24, 2014

As far as Michigan\’s chances go, I really, really like their chances at landing Moran (possibly in the not-to-distant future) while Washington and Williams will be tougher pulls thanks to their offer lists and distance from Ann Arbor.

#Michigan will be in very good shape for both new 2016 RB offers, Robert Washington and Kentrail Moran. — Brandon Brown (@CoachBrown3) July 24, 2014

The staff will take at least two backs in the 2016 class and I fully expect Moran to be one of them. As for the other spot(s), it should come down to Washington, Williams, Kareem Walker (#1 RB in the class) and Elijah Holyfield (Messiah deWeaver\’s top RB target).
