Looking for a presence at the linebacker position, Michigan has offered one of the fastest rising linebackers in the 2016, Jonathan Smith (Laurinburg, NC/Scotland County).
Smith is a very underrated linebacker that has the speed, instincts, nastiness and versatility that fits the new Michigan defense perfectly. He plays outside linebacker for his high school squad but looks to be a pure middle linebacker at the next level.
His offers have started to roll in lately, including Wake Forest, NC State, North Carolina and Virginia but the Michigan offer is his biggest. According to The Wolverine\’s Brandon Brown, a Michigan visit is now on his \”to-do list\”.
