After a conversation with the coaching staff today, Oak Park (MI) athlete John Kelly picked up one of his most coveted offers from Michigan.

Kelly is one of the best players in the state and one of the most dynamic athletes in the class. However, the staff took their time and did their due diligence before finally extending an offer to Kelly as a defensive back (according to Scout\’s Allen Trieu) but could also be moved to the offensive side of the ball. Though the staff slow played his recruitment and they have plenty of ground to make up, Michigan has a chance to land the talented Oak Park athlete thanks to his friendship with current Wolverine commit Mike Weber.

This is a big offer since the staff always wants to land the best players in their backyard and with the decommitments of Shaun Crawford and Garrett Taylor, Kelly is much more of a necessity than luxury. If Weber and the other solid commits, like Alex Malzone, can sway Kelly away from the current favorites (MSU and Minnesota), it would be a huge pick up for the program.
