The 2017 tight end board is really starting to take shape as the staff has extended an offer to another top target in 2017 Hawkins high (CA) star Taariq Johnson.
Johnson is a versatile, Devin Funchess-type of a tight end that has the size to be a mismatch on corners and the speed to burn linebackers. And looks to be a top target for the staff in the class as he is not only a very talented target but he’s also teammates and friends with the two other offered Hawkins standouts, ATH Greg Johnson and WR Joseph Lewis.
According to Wolverine247’s Steve Lorenz, Michigan has done a fantastic job early on with the recruitment of the Hawkins trio ($). And with all three now holding offers, the Wolverines may be the early favorite here.
