Michigan Offers 2016 CB LaVert Hill

Michigan has finally thrown their hat (officially) onto the table for one of the best players in the state and Midwest by offering Cass Tech\’s LaVert Hill (Detroit, MI).

Just blessed to say i received my 7th offer from The University of Michigan #GoBlue pic.twitter.com/8E1dxyeX3j

The brother of 2013 safety commit, Delano Hill, LaVert is a pure cover corner that has very similar athleticism to his brother but could be even more talented. Scouts and coaches have said that the younger Hill just may be the best defensive back to ever come out of Cass Tech, with his defensive coordinator telling 247 Sports\’ Steve Lorenz ($) that he will be the #1 corner in the entire class.

This is saying A LOT when you consider the recent D-1 talent the Technicians have produced, including Boubacar Cissoko (#44 overall in 2008), Terry Richardson (#224 overall in 2012), Jourdan Lewis (#131 overall in 2013), Delano Hill (#298 overall in 2013) and Damon Webb (#40 overall in 2014).

As far as Michigan\’s chances go, I really like them in this recruiting battle. LaVert plays at a Michigan pipeline school, his head coach is a former Wolverine player, his brother is a current Wolverine player, and he\’s very familiar with the campus and program. However, if there were a school to look out for, it would be Alabama. We all know what Nick Saban can do on the recruiting trail.
