Michigan in the Top Five for Five Star QB Tate Martell

More than I have ever seen, quarterback recruits are ending their recruitment and committing to their chosen programs very early on. In 2016, most of the top 20 QBs in the class were committed before the end of their junior years in high school and the 2017 class could be wrapped up even quicker.

Before the start of their junior years, 8 of the top 20 signal callers in the 2017 class, including Scout’s #1 QB Shawn Robinson (TCU), are already committed. And it looks like another five star quarterback could join the list in the not so distant future in Bishop Gorman (NV) QB Tate Martell:

Martell is one of the top recruits and QBs in the entire class (ranked a five star prospect by both Scout and 247Sports) and is pretty high on the Wolverines without visiting. If the staff feels like they have a shot here, they’ll likely push to get him to Ann Arbor before he pulls the trigger. Though, I don’t believe they have the greatest chance here unless his visit absolutely blows him away.
