Michigan has Offered 2016 DE Connor Murphy

Even with the 2015 National Signing Day only weeks away, Jim Harbaugh and staff are using the end of the dead period to extend several 2016 offers. And the latest is out to defensive end Connor Murphy out of Phoenix, AZ.

Confirmed #Michigan\’s offer to 2016 DE Connor Murphy. Long, rangy: http://t.co/Rx4kIM2X4p

At 6\’7\’\’, Murphy has the elite size and hard nosed mentality that every coach is looking for on the defensive line. He also has the look of several former Stanford lineman, including his big brother Trent Murphy. And that\’s not the only familiarity he has with Harbaugh, he spoke with The Wolverine\’s Tim Sullivan about their relationship ($):

\”I go way back with Coach Harbaugh. He\’s obviously the guy that recruited my brother to go to Stanford when he coached at Stanford. Jim Harbaugh, he\’s always been a father figure to me, so I\’m stoked about the Michigan offer for sure.\”

With the strong family relationship and an early offer, look for Michigan to be a major player in his recruitment moving forward. I wouldn\’t be surprised if they were his favorite right away.

Check out his highlights.
