Benjamin Ready for his First Visit to Michigan

Though Michigan already has one 2017 running back commitment in Newton (GA) RB Kurt Taylor, the staff is heavily targeting several other backs in the class, including some of the nation’s best.

At this point, there are around 19 tailbacks offered (give and take some that are “athletes”) but one to watch the closest this spring, Wylie East (TX) RB Eno Benjamin. And he happens to be visiting this week.

Heading up to Ann Arbor for what is expected to be a full day visit on Tuesday morning, Benjamin will be with his running backs coach on his week long trip. They duo will also make stops at Northwestern, Iowa and Arkansas, but the talented Longhorn State star let me know how pumped he is to see UM for the first time.

“I’m looking forward to seeing all of it (education tours, facilities, meeting the coaches)….as well as the players and ask them what it’s like!”, Benjamin said.

This spring will see a lot of top flight recruiting targets visit Ann Arbor but this trip for Benjamin is a big one. Back in the summer of 2015, he let me know that an offer from UM could move the Wolverines to the top of his list. With that offer now in hand, he hasn’t been hiding his affinity for the Maize and Blue. This trip could go a long way in his recruitment. Stay tuned.
