Bold Predictions for the 2016 BBQ at the Big House

Bold predictions aren’t supposed to be simple. They’re supposed to be reaches, shots in the dark, unforeseen predictions. They’re also fun. That’s why I have put together my bold predictions for the 2016 BBQ at the Big House, which includes a celebrity showing up, Harbaugh challenging recruits to an eating contest and plenty of commitments.

While these are bold predictions, they also have a little background information to back them up. So, check out my boldest predictions for the BBQ this weekend:

  1. Celebrities show up
    • Harbaugh is looking to make this event as memorable as possible. That means you can’t rule out him making a couple calls to have a heavy hitter or two on campus to talk with the visiting recruits.
      • Some names that come to mind off the top of the head are the usual suspects: Charles Woodson, Desmond Howard, Lamarr Woodley and Migos.
      • Shot in the Dark options: Boyz II Men, Ice T, Naught by Nature, Nelly and Vanilla Ice will be performing in Michigan this weekend as well. Doubtful any of them show up but you can never say never with Harbaugh.
  2. Harbaugh challenges the big men to a BBQ eating contest
    • This just sounds like something Harbaugh would do, right? He’s the most competitive guy in the world. There will be loads of delicious food being served. There will also be multiple 250-300lb+ recruits in attendance. Looks like the perfect set up for another viral Jim Harbaugh video/picture to me.
  3. Michigan receives two surprise 2017 commitments
    • I’m not predicting an exact number of commitments this weekend but I’ll go out on a limb and say that not only will there commits but Michigan receives a commit (public and/or silent) from two of the “surprise” options.
    • Main surprise options I’ll be watching are Henry Bainivalu, Will Ignont, James Hudson and Aaron Banks.

  4. Several Crystal Ball predictions come in for five star visitors

    • Even before the recruits leave campus, the fun will start in terms of rumors. That’s when Crystal Ballapalooza will begin. It’s a common reaction for most analysts after a large recruiting event like the BBQ at the Big House to begin putting in predictions for the visiting recruits and I expect there to be a flurry of CBs for visiting Michigan targets.
    • A couple big time names to watch out for the CB front includes Najee Harris, Darnay Holmes, Isaiah Wilson and Micah Parsons.
