Sitkowski has Three Standing Out, Will Camp at A4 in June

Early on in the Jim Harbaugh era, Michigan has had amazing success on the quarterback recruiting front. That includes landing three top ranked commitments in the 2015-2017 classes and are set to add another top quarterback in their 2018 haul.

One name to watch the closest is the latest offered prospect at the position, Old Bridge (NJ) QB Artur Sitkowski.

Sitkowski was a bit of an unknown when Michigan extended their offer but thanks to blowing up the New Jersey Opening regional camp, he’s made a huge jump up the class rankings. On top of putting his name out there to recruiting fans, his performance has also put him on the mind of several college coaches.

“Yes it has lots of schools coming to watch me throw and just come by the school to talk to my head coach,” Sitkowski said. And though he’s starting to gain a lot of interest and is up to 8 offers, he has three programs who are standing out in his recruitment:

“Probably Michigan, South Carolina and Boston College,” he said. As for what stands out about those schools, he mentioned the coaching staffs and the type of offensive systems they run.

While he mentions three schools as standouts, Michigan is a school he’s definitely watching closely. And for good reasons.

“Definitely the academics and the tradition of Quarterbacks coming out of Michigan,” Sitkowski mentioned. He also mentioned UM’s connection to New Jersey is another reason they standout as he said he can “talk with the other recruits about their opinion on Michigan and how they feel about the University”.

In today’s world of college football recruiting, quarterback recruits are the quickest off the board thanks to the staff’s heavily targeting “their” guy early on and recruits wanting to get their spot as soon as possible. And though Sitkowski doesn’t have a decision timeline just yet, he did say he’ll make his decision as soon as he and his family are ready.

As for what will be the main factors that go into that decision, Sitkowski has a three point checklist:

“1. Academics 2. System 3. People/comfort and general feeling around the University,” he mentioned.

After doing some digging, it looks like the staff has Sitkowski at the top of their 2018 quarterback board and they’ll have their chance to really build a nice lead next month as he mentioned that he will visit Ann Arbor for the first time on June 18th for the Aerial Assault Quarterback.
