Dallas from Georgia Likes What He Sees from Michigan

Since Jim Harbaugh signed on to be the Michigan football coach, he made the south east a recruiting priority. In his first two classes, he brought in 14 players from SEC country. And when you look at how the staff is targeting the region in 2017, they could bring in another really nice return.

One name to watch very closely is Glynn Academy (GA) ATH Deejay Dallas, as he’s taken a liking to what’s going on up north after becoming a top target for the staff.

The former Georgia commit is not only a top target for Michigan but also several of the nation’s other elite programs, which was shown in his top 15 list. But, according to Dallas, he’s planning on shortening that list in the near future.

“(Recruiting has) picked up a lot of steam lately but I’m starting to narrow it down”, said Dallas, who also added that the narrowing down process will come after he takes some visits. As for where he’ll go, “Cali, Alabama and Auburn, Tennessee, Michigan and some more”.

A visit date is not yet set up for a trip to Ann Arbor but it will take place thanks to Dallas’ high interest in what Harbaugh’s doing with the program.

On what stands out about Michigan, “Coach Harbaugh and what he’s established at Michigan! He’s sorta reviving a program and I would love to be (a part) of that”.

As for if Harbaugh’s interest and signing of southern players interests him, Dallas said “I just wanna ball with or without southern ballers. We will ball regardless in AA”.

On top of southern recruits, another thing that Harbaugh and the coaching staff have targeted during their short time have been duel position athletes. And Dallas fits that category to a T as he stars as a cornerback, duel threat quarterback and return man for Glynn Academy. The staff obviously sees that versatility as well as they’re recruiting him as a “true athlete just like (Jabrill Peppers)”.

Football is obviously a main factor for any recruit but Dallas let me know it’s not the only thing that will go into his final decision. “Major, environment & opportunity” are his main factors. That major, as an animal lover, he told me he’s planning on majoring in Veterinary Science.

Dallas looks to be one of the very top targets for the staff in this cycle. It’s early but that pursuit looks to have helped Michigan out drastically as they’re the only northern team on his top list. Will Harbaugh be able to steal another recruit out of SEC country? This is a recruitment to watch very closely.
