2015 Recruits to Keep an Eye On Before Signing Day

There is just under a month to go until the 2015 National Signing Day and Jim Harbaugh has his work cut out to fill out this class that only features 6 commitments. Luckily, he has put together one of the best coaching staffs in the country and it has the attention of several top recruiting targets.

Check out the names to keep an eye this last month that may fill the remaining 8-10 spots in this class:

Former Commits

  • 5* TE Chris Clark
    • The former commit is down to Michigan and UCLA, and will visit both before NSD. Things are looking very good for the Maize and Blue.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Very Good
  • 4* RB Mike Weber
    • The OSU commit looks to be pretty solid to the Buckeyes, however, a visit to Ann Arbor is very possible and could sway things back in the favor of the Maize and Blue.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Possible, if he visits

Offered Recruits

  • 4* WR Auden Tate
    • Tate grew up a Wolverine fan and had a great visit to Ann Arbor. However, he is still committed to FSU (for the time being). With Harbaugh already reaching out to him, things are looking good for Michigan.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Very Good
  • 4* TE Tyrone Wheatley Jr
    • With the high possibility of his father taking a job on the coaching staff, it looks very likely that Junior could follow him.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Very Good
  • 4* CB Marcus Lewis
    • Lewis was very high on the Wolverines during the summer but dropped off during the season. With the Harbaugh hire, he let it be known he is very interested again.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Very Good
  • 5* CB Iman Marshall
    • The #1 corner in the class was interested in Michigan before Harbaugh and will now use his final official visit in Ann Arbor. With the staff in place, it\’s possible Michigan gets the top corners in back to back classes.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Good
  • 5* DE/OLB Keisean Lucier-South
    • KLS grew up a huge Michigan fan and had a fantastic visit to Ann Arbor during the fall. However, he ended up at UCLA after UofM\’s tough season. Harbaugh\’s already reached out to him but he said a \”change\” at UCLA is likely the Wolverine\’s only chance. He\’s still someone to keep an eye on if they keep him as a top target.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Low
  • 4* LB Jerome Baker
    • The former Florida commit and current OSU commit was a top recruit for DJ Durkin and will likely be reached out to to test his interest. He\’s let it be known he\’s all Buckeye but i\’m sure a call will still be made, if it hasn\’t already.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Very Low
  • 4* DE Jalen Bates
    • After visiting Ann Arbor for the BBQ at the Big House, Michigan looked to be in good standing with Bates. However, he ended up committing to Arizona State and dropped the Wolverines from consideration. But now, Durkin and company have reached out and is interested in visiting again.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Low
  • 4* RB Johnny Frasier
    • Frasier was a top target for Hoke\’s staff but committed to FSU in August. However, the Seminoles happen to have two other top ranked running backs in the class and rumor has it he may be looking around. His strong running style would fit Harbaugh and Drevno\’s offense.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Good, if targeted
  • 3* DE Charles Omenihu
    • One of the first offers extended from DJ Durkin, Omenihu is a Texas commit who says he\’s pretty solid to the Longhorns but also said he will speak with his parents about visiting Ann Arbor.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Possible
  • 3* CB Damon Arnette
    • Another first offer from Durkin, Arnette is a South Carolina commit that is extremely underrated in terms of star rankings. After speaking with the new staff, he has set up an official visit to Ann Arbor for January 16th.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Good

New Names

  • 5* DE Byron Cowart
    • Cowart is a top 5 player across the board and was a top target for Durkin at Florida. There\’s a good chance he reaches out to see if he\’s interested in coming up north for a visit.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Low
  • 4* LB Roquan Smith
    • Smith is an elite athlete and top 50 prospect, and a very big fan of DJ Durkin. Because of his addition to the Michigan coaching staff, he will now take an official visit to Ann Arbor. And with the staff there, the Wolverine\’s have a good shot at pulling him out of the south.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Good
  • 4* WR Ryan Davis
    • Michigan desperately needs some electric, home run hitters on the outside and Davis fits that to a tee. It looks like he\’ll stay in Florida but with the staff already reaching out, he let it be known he\’s \”look into\” the Wolverines.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Low
  • 4* WR Cordell Broadus
    • Snoop Dogg\’s son just so happens to be an elite receiver in the class and let it be known he\’d \”definitely\” visit Ann Arbor thanks to the Harbaugh hire. If they get him on campus, they may have a shot at swaying him from the West Coast.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Possible, if he visits
  • 4* LB Porter Gustin
    • Gustin is one of the best athletes in the class and would be a perfect fit for Harbaugh\’s team. However, Michigan has shown little interest. He\’s down to four finalists but there\’s a small chance a call from the staff could peak his interest.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Very Low
  • 3* DE Rasool Clemons
    • The soft Virginia commit was getting some interest from Michigan earlier on and, as 247Sports\’ Steve Lorenz said, interest from Harbaugh could be a game changer for Clemons.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Very Good, if offered
  • 3* FB Reagan Williams
    • Harbaugh\’s offense focuses on fullbacks and Williams is one of the best in the country. He is currently committed to Stanford but is from Ohio and interest from Harbaugh could be a factor.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Good, if offered
  • 3* CB Quenton Meeks
    • At 6\’2\’\’, Meeks has the size that Durkin is looking for in his corners. He also is a very good student (offers from Stanford and Vanderbilt), so Michigan could be the perfect opportunity for his education and football future.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Good, if offered
  • 4* DE Arden Key
    • The recent South Carolina decommit holds a Michigan offer and is a legit possibility. His size and skill set makes him a good fit as the elite rush end the staff is hoping for. If they can get him on campus, they may have a chance.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Good, if he visits
  • 3* OL David Moorman
    • The Wisconsin commit out of Northville is the best option for Michigan if they want to bring in another offensive lineman in the class. He was looking for an offer early on but when it didn\’t come, he committed to the Badgers.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Good, if offered
  • 3* DB Jeff Christian
    • Christian was starting to see interest from Hoke and company but ended up committing to Purdue after the coaching change was made. If Harbaugh reaches out, there\’s a good chance a flip happens.
      • Michigan\’s Chances: Very Good, if offered
