Grant Newsome #72, OT |
– After being offered by Michigan, Newsome has blown up in the recruiting world. Landing offers from most of the top programs in the country, including Alabama, LSU, Miami, and O$U, he chose to go with Michigan thanks to the staff, program, and educational opportunities. With the staff desperately looking for another tackle, his big, physical, nasty style would fit in perfectly.

6.WR/ATH: 4* Brian Cole, 6’2” 210lbs. Saginaw, MI (Heritage HS)
– Cole is the top recruits in Michigan and one of the highest rated players in the country. He has the skill and athleticism to play running back, wide receiver or safety at the next level. But the Wolverines coaching staff believe he is best suited at the receiver position and he agreed. He is expected to be featured in the slot and as a return man.

7. DE: 3* Reuben Jones, 6\’3.5\’\’ 233lbs. Lakeland, FL (Lake Gibson)

Commit Date: 1/24/15
8. QB: 4* Zach Gentry, 6\’7\’\’ 235lbs. Alburquerque, NM (Eldorado)
– In Harbaugh\’s time at Stanford, he signed multiple quarterbacks in three of the four years knowing that competition and depth are needed every single position. And he\’s bringing that same mentality to Ann Arbor as Texas QB commit Zach Gentry has flipped and committed to Michigan while on his official visit, becoming the 2nd quarterback in the 2015 class and 2nd commit of the Harbaugh-era.
Commit Date: 1/24/15
9. OT Nolan Ulizio, 6\’6\’\’ 280lbs. West Chester, OH (Lakota West)
– If there was one position that plagued the Brady Hoke era more than any other, it was the offensive line. While the staff recruited some of the best talent in the country, they were not able to develop them. It is one of the main things that Harbaugh and Drevno will have to do to turn Michigan around, and the latest commitment, OT Nolan Ulizio, will give them the chance to really prove that.
Commit Date: 1/25/15
10. WR: Grant Perry, 6\’0” 175lbs. Bloomfield, MI (Brother Rice HS)

13. DE: Shelton Johnson, 6\’5\’\’ 225lbs. Delray Beach, FL (Atlantic)
– By far the biggest surprise of National Signing Day for Michigan was the commitment of Johnson, who is one of the highest ceiling commits in the class. He has the elite frame and athleticism needed to be a game changer at defensive end, especially after a year or two in the weight room.
Commit Date: 2/4/15
14. DE/TE: Tyrone Wheatley Jr, 6’6” 240lbs. Buffalo, NY (Canisius HS)
From day one, most believed Tyrone Wheatley Jr would follow his fathers footsteps and sport the Maize and Blue.
