What\’s Happenin\’: February Recruiting Update

Today (February 16th) was the biggest recruiting of 2014, so far, as the staff hosted several top 2016 and 2017 prospects. Those who visited included:

The visitors saw a decent show as Michigan battled back against Wisconsin but came up short. However, the atmosphere in the stadium was great during the comeback bid, which is always to show off to the recruits.
Besides the game, a lot has happened this month, including:
  • 2016 OT Liam Eichenburg was offered on his Wisconsin game visit
    • Looks like a Michigan-O$U battle, but I really like the Wolverines\’ chances.
  • 2017 OL Josh Myers was also offered on his Wisconsin game visit
    • Looks like a Michigan-Kentucky battle early on, he\’s a Wildcat legacy.
  • 2016 OT Thiyo Lukusa will visit Ann Arbor twice
    • Very possible commitment
  • 2015 RB Mike Weber visited twice in three weeks and is likely to be back next week
    • Michigan\’s chances look really good since Nussmeier has been hired
  • 2015 DT Hjalte Froholdt may be back on the radar
    • His main recruiter, d-line coach and defensive coordinator at Arkansas have all left the program. Michigan may have a great chance with him, again.
  • 2015 OT Keenan Walker was offered
  • 2015 LB Josh Barajas was offered
  • 2016 OT Greg Little was offered
  • 2015 S Prentice McKinney was offered
  • 2015 OT Drew Richmond was offered
  • 2015 DE Clelin Ferrell was offered
  • 2016 DT Rashan Gary has family in Detroit is looking to visit Michigan before the fall
  • 2015 LB Justin Hilliard released his top 15
    • Michigan was the first team named but he said it wasn\’t listed in any particular order
