After plenty of off-season trash talk, Michigan and Florida finally met on the field at JerryWorld. And, like expected from pretty much everyone on the Michigan/non-SEC side of things, the Wolverines absolutely dominated the Gators in front of a national televised audience. Though the score was only 33-17, it was one of the closest blowouts in recent memory as Michigan’s defense held Florida’s offense to just 11 yards on the ground and only 3 points. Outside of Wilton Speight’s two pick sixes, this game was all maize and more maize.
There are plenty of things that Michigan’s offense, especially Wilton Speight, needs to clean up. But, the upcoming schedule will give them plenty of time to do so.
If Speight and crew get it figured out, look out. This defense is scary good and will only continue to get better as the corners continue to get their feet wet.
