Besides the 3rd straight shutout by the Michigan defense, the biggest news on Saturday was the official visit of Ohio State commit/De Paul Catholic (NJ) RB Kareem Walker. While the top analysts at Scout, Rivals and 247Sports were hearing good things about the visit, things looked good but still unlikely for Michigan to flip the nation’s #1 running back.
Well, according to an Ohio State source of mine, the odds of Walker decommitting from Ohio State and ending up at Michigan are looking very good.
“I’m 99.999% sure he is out for OSU”, the source said about Walker. It turns out this last visit and some other things have rubbed the Buckeye coaching staff the wrong way and that’s why they’re going all in on Wisconsin running back commit Antonio Williams (who the source believes will flip and join the OSU class in the not-so-distant future).
As for where he’ll end up, “Michigan is the obvious favorite to land him” they said, after speaking with another source very close to the Michigan football team. They also added this last part that I’m sure will excite most fans:
I’d be willing to bet (money) that he suits up in Maize & Blue for his first collegiate game.”
So, take this as you will. Either way, things are looking even better than I had previously thought for Michigan to have a historic recruiting haul from New Jersey in 2016.
