Harbaugh and staff had a bit of an issue with landing a running back in the 2015 class with all of the Mike Weber stuff going on. However, they ended up adding a talented back out of Florida, Karen Higdon, and have made up for missing out on the top in-state tailback in 2015 by now adding the top in-state back in 2016, Matt Falcon.

Falcon is one of the most talented running backs in the country but has had some injury issues early on in his high school career which has hurt his rankings. However, the coaches can see what makes him a top commodity. He has the size, power and quickness to be a very productive back in the Maize and Blue.
Though he was injured, that did not stop the top programs from coming after him. He landed offers from the likes of Ohio State, Tennessee, Arizona State and Oregon, and though he named the Volunteers his leader for a long time, the commitment of David Reese may have been the final piece. He was expected to wait until his visit to Knoxville at the end of the month but decided to pull the trigger early to make sure he got the spot.
- Height: 6’1”
- Weight: 215lbs
- Notable Offers: Ohio State, Tennessee, Oregon, UCLA
- Rankings: Scout (4*, #149 overall) – Rivals (4*, #13 RB) – 247Sports (4*, #234 overall) – ESPN (3*)
As for the Rest of the Class: Falcon is the 6th member of the class and the 2nd running back. Though the staff is looking to bring in 25 guys, it looks like this should be it for the running backs. But this commitment should be big for several more in-state recruits. So, make sure to watch out for DE Khalid Kareem, WR Dez Fitzpatrick, OG Michael Onwenu and WR Donnie Corley.
