Brady Hoke is just like every other Michigan head coach. He wants to have as much high level talent as possible. That has always meant bringing in several scholarship quarterbacks. Now, Hoke has brought in his 3rd QB, this time, one of the most sought after in the 2014 class, Wilton Speight!
Wilton Speight #19, QB (via TheMBlock) |
With elite size, arm and mentality, Wilton Speight is a player that should do great things in the Maize and Blue. At 6\’6\’\’ 220lbs, he is the ideal pro style quarterback. He can make all the throws, reads defenses very well, and is working with QB guru Steve Clarkson in California to make himself even more ready for college.
The 2014 Under Armor All-American has a bit of a hitch in his delivery, but scouts and coaches have compared him favorably to the #1 QB of the 2013 class and fellow Virginia native, Christian Hackenberg. He has also been compared to All-Pro QB Phillip Rivers. Good company for any QB. With some time at the elite summer camps, Speight will soon get up to 4 star rating.
As For The Rest Of The Class
Speight is the only QB the staff offered and will take. He is a big time recruit and even bigger recruiter, similar to 2013 QB commit, Shane Morris. The staff has let him know who their main targets are and Speight has been making great moves with them. Some of the main guys include 4* WR Drake Harris, 4* RB Joe Mixon, 5* RB Elijah Hood, 4* ATH/WR Juju Smith, and 5* CB Adoree Jackson.
