Ed Warinner and the Michigan coaching staff continues to reel in the talent along the offensive line as the Wolverines welcomed another four-star commit to the bunch as 2021 Cass Tech (MI) OC Raheem Anderson has committed to Michigan.
Commitment
Scouting Report
Anderson is a pure center prospect. Thick build with long arms and strong hands that is just scratching the surface of his physical potential. Smart on the ball, can dominate in the run game and shows a good center of gravity and bend in pass protection. He has room to grow with his footwork and first step quickness but that’s something that can be worked on.
Michigan has built a nice depth chart of center options but Anderson, though he could play any of the interior line positions, may be the most pure prospect of the bunch. More goes into a position battle but he’s a guy that looks like he’ll be starting plenty of games during his career.
Recruitment
As an in-state recruit out of one of Michigan’s best pipeline high schools in the state, Anderson looked like a good bet to join the class for most of the cycle. “Most” being the main word there.
The staff offered Anderson all the way back in February of 2018 following his freshmen year at Cass Tech. The staff stayed on top of him as a prospect and hosted him on several visits over the years including the Junior Day visit in the spring of 2019, multiple games during the 2019 season, as well as Junior Day of 2020.
However, there were times when he may not have been a take for the staff following the pursuit and eventual addition of C/G Greg Crippen. But that clearly is no longer a question as both Anderson and Crippen have the ability to play either the center or guard positions.
Once the staff turned up the heat on Anderson, it didn’t take long for the in-state standout to lock in his spot and commit to the Wolverines during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Highlights
As for the Rest of the Class
Anderson is the 8th overall commitment, the 3rd offensive line commit, and the 3rd in-state commit. His addition won’t be the last of either category as the staff is in great shape with OT David Davidkov and OG Rocco Spindler, as well as OG Drew Kendall. As for in-state targets, the staff is still pushing hard for Spindler, RB Donovan Edwards, LB Jamari Buddin, DT Rayshaun Benny, OL Garrett Dellinger, and WR Andrel Anthony, and continues to fight for CB Kalen King and LB Kobe King.
