New Michigan Man!: 4* TE Ian Bunting

In a bit of a surprise, Michigan landed it\’s 6th commitment of the 2014 class, when Hinsdale 4* TE Ian Bunting chose the Wolverines over offers from some of the biggest programs in the country. After a visit to Ann Arbor with his parents, Bunting felt the family atmosphere that Brady Hoke has created, as well as the perfect fit for his abilities.

\”Tight end heaven\”. That\’s what offensive coordinator, Al Borges, calls the new pro-style, Michigan offense. A big, strong armed QB that can sit in the pocket behind an elite o-line and throw seeds to top flight receivers and hybrid tight ends. That was obviously a great selling point for Bunting.

At 6\’7\’\’, he is match-up nightmare where ever he lines up. He reminds me a ton of Devin Funchess in his ability to out leap every DB and bring down just about every ball around him. Many thought he was a Notre Dame lock, but thanks to an unbelievable visit and the fact that his grandma was a Michigan alum, Ian will be donning the maize and blue for his college career.

As for the Rest of the Class

Michigan is only going to take one tight end, and Bunting is that guy. Now, with 10-14 spots left, some guys may have to make a decision a little quicker with another spot gone in this small but elite class. As for the coaches, they will look at their top targets. Those top guys, are some of the top prospects in the entire country. In my opinion, their top guys are 5* CB Jabrill Peppers, 5* DE Da\’Shawn Hand, 4* CB Parrker Westphal, and 4* OLB Chase Winovich.

To go along with that, they are targeting the top wide receivers as well. With 2, possibly 3 (if elite), spots remaining for receivers, the main targets are 4* Artavis Scott, 4* Corey Holmes, 3* Maurice Ways, 4* KJ Williams, and 4* Josh Malone. It could be a first come, first serve basis for these guys.
