When Michigan signed on with Nike and the Jordan brand, expectations on the new jersey and apparel designs went through the roof. And for good reason. Nike has been the pinnacle of football jerseys and apparel while Jordan is one of the biggest boutique (for lack of a better word) brands in the world. That Jumpman logo is something sneaker heads, recruits and fans of sporting apparel want, and now Michigan is the only football program to have it.
On Sunday night, the streets of Ann Arbor were shut down for the apparel launch. That event included speeches from the likes of Jim Harbaugh, Lamarr Woodley, Jimmy King and Rashan Gary. So, it was obvious that the jersey release on Tuesday was going to be memorable as well.
While the apparel launch at The MDen was perfect for a college, the jersey launch in Detroit at the Ford Piquette Plant was a scene out of futuristic fashion runway show:
