While the Michigan coaching staff has spent plenty of time contacting their top 2017 targets at the start of September 1st, they’ve also been reaching out to their top 2016 targets as well as a couple new names to remember. One in particular is Centennial (TX) RB Anthony Pegues.
2016 Frisco Centennial RB/WR @PeguesAnthony rec heard from #Michigan. #NorthernIowa showing heavy int. Had 306yds rush & 4Tds wk1. @MGoFish

Pegues is as close to a Darren Sproles clone that I have seen at the high school football level and could be that home run hitting threat on 3rd downs and in the return game that every coach needs. And if Michigan was to come forward with an offer, it shouldn’t take long to land the Centennial star.
“But will Michigan offer?” is the question. He only holds an offer from Navy at the moment while Northern Iowa is also showing a lot of interest. So, it’ll be interesting to see how the Michigan staff plays this one. Either way, make sure to keep an eye on Pegues moving forward.
