Michigan hosted several top 2016 recruiting targets for the Michigan State game but only one recruit walked away with the Wolverines at the top of their list: Franklin (CA) ATH Lamar Jackson.
I was able to chat with Jackson about his visit to Ann Arbor and what stood out about his trip:
It was great, atmosphere was unreal, loyal fans, great coaches and players. I enjoyed it.
I mean it’s just a great place to be at this time. Harbaugh and his staff are building something great”
As for where Michigan sits on his list after the visit, Jackson confirmed Wolverine247’s Steve Lorenz’s report that UM was now leading:
Yeah they moved up big. I like them a lot”
However, don’t expect a decision anytime soon. Jackson let me know he is planning on announcing his decision in January at the Under Armour All-American Game.
Another fun note about his trip, Jackson spent the entire time with TE Isaac Nauta, CB David Long and WR Dylan Crawford. As for if they all liked it and if all four could see themselves playing together at the next level:
Yeah (everyone) enjoyed their visit. Have to wait and see”.
