In relatively big news, Michigan was included in the top 10 schools for 2016\’s top point guard Derryck Thornton.
ICYMI: Derryck Thornton (@DerryckThornton) cut his list to Duke, UK, Michigan, Louisville, Arizona, California, USC, Miami, UNLV & NC State.

Thornton is not only the best point guard in the class but one of the best players in the country. His mix of athleticism, distribution skills and scoring ability makes him a perfect fit for Beilein\’s offense and the head coach is selling him on being the next great Wolverine point guard.
The talented point guard and his father have followed Michigan\’s success with developing players and point guards, especially. Developing him into the next Trey Burke is one of he main selling points and a very solid one at that.
Besides Michigan, Thornton\’s top 10 includes Duke, Kentucky, Louisville, Cal, USC, Miami, Arizona, NC State and UNLV. However, after his summer camp visit to Ann Arbor, several analysts believed that the Wolverines were the team to beat. It\’s not clear if that is still the case but one thing is clear, Michigan is right in the thick of this race. And according to Wolverine 247\’s Steve Lorenz ($), he is looking to make an official visit to Ann Arbor this winter.
