After a tough week for Michigan and several other ranked teams, there was a big time shakeup in the latest staff top 25 rankings. This included movement at all but 3 spots, 8 teams jumping up at least four spots and 6 teams dropping at least five spots. Week 13 was wild and crazy.
- Biggest Rise: Stanford (from 12th to 7th), North Carolina (from 13th to 8th), TCU (from 16th to 11th), Utah (from t-25th to 20th)
- Biggest Fall: Florida (from 10th to 19th)
- In: USC (now: 23rd), LSU (now: 24th), Wisconsin (now: 25th)
- Out: Washington State (was: 20th), UCLA (was: 22nd), Mississippi State (was: 23rd), Toledo (was: t-25th)
