Look Who’s Visiting Now: October 10th vs Northwestern

Michigan will host their highest ranked opponent of the season (so far) on Saturday as the #13 Northwestern Wildcats come strolling into Ann Arbor. And with a big game, means a big recruiting weekend. The staff is expected to host a nice group of 2016, 2017, 2018 and even 2019 football and basketball recruits, including three official visitors, one of which who is a name to watch closely.

Here is the list of recruiting visitors for the Michigan-Northwestern game:

Official

TE Jacob Mathis

First reported by Wolverine247’s Steve Lorenz, Mathis will be making his first visit to Ann Arbor and, out of the three official visitors, is the most likely to end up in the 2016 class. Though Florida’s reemergence has tempered those feelings a bit, the staff will have a great shot at locking down the pass catching tight end this weekend.

DE Quayshon Alexander

247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong was the first on this one and it’s pretty big. Alexander, though committed to Nebraska, has been a target that looked to remain high on the staff’s defensive end board. If the defense shows out again, this visit could really give the Wolverines a chance at flipping him from the struggling Huskers.

DE Levi Onwuzurike

Wiltfong also had this one first. Onwuzurike is an little known name to watch closely. He is a big time defensive end at one of the biggest and best high school football programs in Texas and the country. He’s been high on Michigan for awhile now and this visit could go a long way in his recruitment.

WR Ahmir Mitchell – commit

I was able to confirm that Mitchell will be at the game as well, though he will not be coming with the Camden duo. He will be flying into town but I’m not sure if it will be his official visit. UPDATE: Per Wolverine247’s Steve Lorenz, this trip will indeed be his official visit.

2016 RB Kareem Walker

The Ohio State commit has been the rumored “secret visitor” that has been talked about for a couple days now. Well, it looks like those rumors were true as Rivals’ Marc Givler is reporting that Walker will be visiting Michigan this weekend. This is an official visit and a big one but I wouldn’t start putting him in my Best Guess Recruiting Class just yet as an OSU source let me know that he has taken several visits with his teammate, Quayshon Alexander, before.

Unofficial

2016 WR Brad Hawkins and DE Ron Johnson – commits

The Camden commitment duo will be driving to Ann Arbor for the game for their first in-person look at the 2015 Michigan team. They should also be a major help in recruiting the other targets on campus.

2016 OT Erik Swenson – commit

The first 2016 commit let me know he’ll be on campus as well for the game.

2016 LB David Reese – commit

Reese will make it 4-4 on the home game schedule and, like always, will be a top recruiting recruit.

2016 LB Devin Bush Jr

Another “secret visitor” announced as 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong is reporting that Michigan will host Bush Jr on an unofficial visit this weekend as well. This could be one to watch closely.

2016 CB Lavert Hill

Hill is a Penn State commit and the brother of junior UM safety Delano Hill. He also happened to make a big time surprise visit to Ann Arbor for the game when everyone thought he’d be down south visiting Tennessee.

2016 K/P Quinn Nordin

The Rockford, MI native, Penn State commit and #1 kicker in the country was a surprise visitor. He was seen by multiple analysts at the game.

2016 OT Ostell Martin

Martin let me know that he will be making another trip to Michigan along with family this weekend.

2016 WR/ATH Simeon Smith

Smith let me know that he’ll be making a return trip to the Ann Arbor this weekend.

2016 WR Jordan Brewer

I was able to confirm that Brewer will be making it to the game with the Malone’s and he’s a name to watch closely. After seeing his highlights, the staff quickly invited him to the game and after I watched them, I saw why. He’s a baseball player that has started to see the possibility of playing football at the next level and has quickly become one of the most talented receivers I’ve seen in the state.

2017 TE Carter Dunaway

According to The Michigan Insider’s Brice Marich, the Michigan tight end commit will be making another trip to his future school this weekend.

2017 OLB Corey Malone-Hatcher

Mr. Malone let me know he and Corey will be coming to the game. Things look fantastic for Michigan here and this visit should only help that standing even more.

2017 LB Josh Ross

According to The Michigan Insider’s Brice Marich, Ross will be making (what seems like) his 1,000th visit to Michigan this weekend.

2017 RB/ATH Allen Stritzinger

Another 2017 Pipeline 9 member that is very likely to end up in the class, Stritzinger let me know he will be at the game. Not sure if he’ll make a snap decision, but I wouldn’t be shocked if he did.

2017 OT JaRaymond Hall

Hall let me know he know he will be at the game as well. The third Pipeline 9 member that looks destined to end up in the class should only help the staff’s cause even more.

2017 OLB Trenton Guthrie

According to The Michigan Insider’s Brice Marich, the Northville standout will be making the short trip to Ann Arbor for the game.

2017 OLB Kailen Abrams

Brice Marich was on this one again, as Abrams is a newer name to the board and will making an in-state visit.

2018 OG/DT Marquan McCall

With Hall, the 2018 standout and interior offensive/defensive lineman let me know he’ll be at the game as well. Like the other top in-state targets, Michigan is sitting pretty with him.

2018 ATH Rashawn Allen

According to multiple reports, including The Wolverine’s Tim Sullivan, Allen will be making the short trek to Ann Arbor for the game.

2018 QB Brandon Leach

Leach let me know that he’ll be attending the game this weekend.

2019 QB Sam Johnson

Per Scout’s Allen Trieu, the top 2019 Southfield quarterback will be making another trip to Ann Arbor for the game.

2019 LB Tyrece Woods

Woods tweeted out his plans to visit Michigan this weekend. Being from Detroit MLK likely means he will be coming with some of his other teammates, but not Donnie Corley or Lavert Hill as they will be taking officials to Tennessee this weekend.

Maybe

CB Tony Butler

The former top target is still on the board and let me know he “might” make it to the game depending on what time his game ends.

Basketball Visitors

2018 PG Brandon Wade

2017 F Jeran Jackson

There will be plenty of other targets visiting and added to the list so make sure to keep checking back and follow @MGoFish on Twitter.
