When Michigan added Shea Patterson via transfer in December, questions starting popping up about the possibility of Michigan’s quarterback commits looking elsewhere. Well, one has decided to look elsewhere for his college career as 2018 St. John’s (DC) QB Kevin Doyle decommitted from Michigan on Super Bowl Sunday.
Thank you Coach Hamilton and Coach Harbaugh for the opportunity. I am officially decommitted from the University of Michigan. I will be signing with a new school on Wednesday, Feb 7th.

Doyle’s decommitment brought Michigan’s 2018 class down to 20 but Jake Moody’s grayshirt commitment took it back to 21. Add in the two transfers in Shea Patterson and Casey Hughes, and Michigan has 23 scholarships accounted for this upcoming season. And that may be the final number for the class as there doesn’t look to be much of a chance for UM to add any of its remaining targets in the class before/on National Signing Day (Wednesday).
