The 2016 class is starting to wind down in terms of spots but that doesn’t mean that the staff is sticking with the names left on the board. They have plenty of time before National Signing Day and it looks like they have their mind of extending their board and flipping some more targets.
New Target on the Board
First reported by The Michigan Insider’s Brice Marich, there looks to be a new name on the recruiting board ($) and it’s in little known Spraybury (GA) CB/WR Dreshun Miller.
I was able to reach out to Dreshun and he let me know that the staff has been talking with him and that he’s very interested in Michigan:
I really wanna get to know them more and take a visit up there, they seem like nice people…..(they’re) excited about my film and (told me) to keep it up”
When you turn on his highlight tape, you can see why the staff is interested. He has the length (6’2”) and athleticism that the staff loves in their corners and should continue to develop over his senior year.
Similar to Miller (versatile athlete that can play corner or wide receiver), Michigan is in great shape with both Keyshawn “Pie” Young and Lamar Jackson so it will be interesting to see how they play this one.
Another Run at Washington?
As for a name that looks to be back on the board, that would be Mt. Island Charter (NC) RB Robert Washington after he decommitted from Syracuse on Sunday.
He was quickly followed by both Coach Harbaugh and recruiting coordinator Matt Doherty after sending out this tweet:
This is my new account my old account has been hacked by my father and I can't get in it @CoachJim4UM @CoachBrianKelly @CoachMcElwain
— Mr. Washington (@Iam_Cinco) August 30, 2015
Washington was a top target for the staff before he committed to Florida Syracuse and, with the Matt Falcon injury, the staff could be looking to bring in another running back in 2016. Things could get very interesting if they heavily pursue him and get an official visit out of him this fall though I doubt he ends up as a Wolverine on NSD (i’ll probably end up eating those words now).
Kicking the Tires on Nordin
How about another old name that looks to be on the board? That name would be Penn State commit and Rockford (MI) K/P Quinn Nordin.
The nation’s #1 kicker committed to the Nittany Lions over the Wolverines back in July but with the questions surrounding Team 136’s kicking game, the staff looks to be interested in flipping the in-state standout. He was recently followed by Coach Harbaugh on Twitter which normally means the staff is interested.
This will be another one to watch as the season moves forward. And you know how Harbaugh is. Even with Andrew David on scholarship and the few amount of scholarships available this year, he loves competition and values special teams as much as anyone.
It could also help that he was just back at a kicking camp with former Michigan kicker Brandon Kornblue:
This Sunday's Michigan #Fab50 Camp will include nation's #1 ranked kicker @QuinnNordin & #Fab50 members @o1courtright, @GabeKP & @KadenKeon
— Brandon Kornblue (@KornblueKicking) August 28, 2015
If Harbaugh is able to flip both Nordin and Detroit King (MI) CB Lavert Hill from Penn State, the Nittany Lions fans may not be that “happy” the next time Michigan rolls into Happy Valley.
Batman vs Superman pt 2
In the match up of the year between two Michigan commits, QB Brandon Peters‘ Avon high took on RB/ATH Chris Evans‘ Ben Davis high, and the two Indiana stars did not disappoint:

Though Evans’ team came out on front, both commits showed why they are two that could do a lot of damage in Ann Arbor, especially if they end up sharing the same backfield.
