“OFFERS FOR EVERYONE!” That seems to be the Michigan coaching staff’s plan moving forward as they have been handing out scholarship offers like hot cakes, trying to cast the widest net possible to help bring in the top class every year moving forward. And I love the plan.
Recruiting is much different today than it was even 5 years ago. To get an out of region player interested early on, an offer needs to be on the table. It’s just how it is, and Harbaugh and staff know that. They are setting themselves up for a nice 2016 class and even better classes in the future.
Here are some of the latest names to be offered this last couple days:
2016 DT Keyshon Camp, 6’4” 269lbs. Lake Gibson, FL
Note: Camp is teammates with 2015 signee Reuben Jones
2016 CB Byron Murphy, 5’11” 160lbs. Scottsdale, AZ
Note: Murphy is teammates with 2016 OG Kayden Lyles (on this list)
2017 RB/CB Allen Stritzinger, 6’0” 180lbs. Warren, MI
Note: One of the top in-state targets and is a very likely candidate to be apart of this class
2017 OT Austin Jackson, 6’5” 260lbs. Phoenix, AZ
Note: Jackson is ranked as a five star by 247 and is one of the top tackles in the class.
2017 OG Kayden Lyles, 6’3” 290lbs. Scottsdale, AZ
Note: His dad played at Wisconsin and brother is committed there for 2016.
2017 S Daniel Wright, 6’2” 175lbs. Ft Lauderdale, FL
Note: Wright is one of the top players in the 2017 class and will be one of the most heavily targeted safeties.
2017 WR Leroy Henley, 6’2” 170lbs. Ft Lauderdale, FL
Note: Henley is teammates with Daniel Wright so look for the staff to try and get the Cardinal Gibbons duo to visit together.
2018 WR Will Mallory, 6’5” 200lbs. Jacksonville, FL
Note: Mallory is the son of former Wolverine linebacker Mike Mallory, which means Michigan’s the favorites early on.
