Another day, another decommitment. Michigan has lost it\’s six commitment of the 2015 class as 4* LB Darrin Kirkland decided to open things up in his recruitment, leaving Team 136 with only eight commitments.
Kirkland was one of the cornerstones of the 2015 class as an elite prospect and the only linebacker commit for the class. But with the turmoil and questions surrounding Brady Hoke and the program, he decided to make a move.
After officially visiting Ole Miss last weekend, he decided to officially decommit. In an interview with Scout\’s Allen Trieu ($), Kirkland said that Michigan was \”out\” and that he was looking at \”Ole Miss, Texas, Oklahoma, USC and Virginia Tech\”. However, his father spoke with ESPN\’s Tom VanHarren and had this to say:
Spoke with Darrin Kirkland and his father tonight. Darrin and his father said Michigan is still in the mix. pic.twitter.com/jimYhjfLbd

In my opinion, a big named hire could possibly sway Kirkland back to the Wolverines as long as he\’s still open to returning. But if that doesn\’t work out, it\’s not clear who could take his spot. There aren\’t many options on the 2015 linebacker board at the moment.
