John Beilein has proven time and again that he’s one of the best developers of talent in the college basketball coaching ranks. He’s had a knack for developing lower ranked players into NBA draft picks as well as almost anyone. And he’ll have the chance to prove it again with his latest recruiting win as 2018 St. Thomas More (NY) SG Adrien Nunez has committed to Michigan.

Scouting Report
Throughout Nunez’s highlight tapes, I see another Beilein player that is a play making, fan favorite, veteran-type guard that everyone will think has been at the school forever (similar to Spike Albrecht, Stu Douglas and Muhammad Ali Abdur-Rahkman). He’s an athletic, hard working player that looks to only be scratching the surface of his potential. One aspect of his game that has to have Beilein excited is his shooting ability, especially as a spot three point sharp shooter. With time to learn and grow for the first year or two in Ann Arbor, he should be ready to fully contribute by his sophomore or junior season.
Recruitment
Nunez burst onto the Michigan recruiting scene quickly as the his name only recently started being brought up as a target for the staff. Soon after popping up on the radar, he officially visited Ann Arbor this past weekend and didn’t waste much time after landing his offer from the coaching staff. He committed to Michigan the day after and becomes the 4th commitment of the staff’s very nice 2018 recruiting class.
- Height: 6’5”

- Rankings: Scout (NR) – Rivals (3*) – 247 (3*, #287 overall)

Highlights
As for the Rest of the Class
Nunez is the fourth overall commitment, second shooting guard commitment and the first commitment out of New York. But the staff isn’t done just yet. The rest of the class should be wrapped up this week as the two remaining targets on the board are set to announce in McDonough School (MD) PG Noah Locke and Father Lopez (FL) F Colin Castleton. The latter being the very likely addition while Locke looks like he’ll end up at Florida.
