While Michigan is starting to slow down a bit on their 2016 offers, they are still targeting the elite of the elite, and their latest offer is to one of the best players in the country, LB Ben Davis.
Davis is a prototypical linebacker that looks to be a star on Saturdays. He’s already a man amongst boys at the high school level, where he stars on both sides of the ball (linebacker and wide receiver) to show off his athleticism.
Extending an offer is a good move by Michigan even though they are fighting an uphill battle (likely headed to Alabama). Getting in to those top programs and offering the elite players will help crack the door open for the coaching staff to build relationships with the coaches and star to become a known option in the south.
Look for the staff to also make sure Davis and the other top in-state players make it to the Prattville camp Michigan is guest hosting.
