Michigan’s 2020 class was already sitting comfortably in the top ten in the country but Juwan Howard has bigger goals. He took another step towards that goal by jumping into the top five of the recruiting rankings following former Georgetown commit and four-star Gonzaga (DC) F Terrance Williams committing to Michigan.
Commitment
Scouting Report
Williams is a tweener forward that can score from all over the floor and brings a level of compete and effort that every good team needs to succeed. He shows the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter, in the mid-range, and can get to the bucket when driving the lane. His defensive and defensive rebounding prowess should get him onto the court quickly for Juwan Howard.
For an in-depth scouting report, let Ant Wright tell you all about Terrance Williams as a prospect:
- Height: 6’6”
- Weight: 215lbs
- Hometown (School): Washington, DC (Gonzaga)
- Notable Offers: Virginia, UCLA, Georgetown, Notre Dame
- Rankings: Rivals (4*, #94 overall) – 247Sports (4*, #100 overall) – ESPN (4*, #77 overall)
- Composite Ranking: Four-star, #84 Overall, #17 PF, #1 in DC
Highlights
As for the Rest of the Class
Williams is the 4th member of the class which is now ranked 4th in the country but could fight for the top overall spot if Howard can pull off a little more magic and land who I believe is the best player in the entire class, #11 overall five-star SG Josh Christopher. And according to multiple reports, things are starting to look more and more like it could happen.
If Howard can pull off the unthinkable by landing Christopher, all eyes turn to Isaiah Todd and if he’ll play at Michigan or go overseas to play a year pro before he’s eligible for the NBA Draft. If he does stick with the Wolverines, it’ll get interesting because Juwan’s son, three-star SF Jace Howard is extremely likely to be a part of this class as well. That would put Michigan one over the current scholarship number, meaning if it all went down like that, attrition may be coming to the roster this offseason.
There’s also the nugget that The Wolverine’s Chris Balas dropped about the possibility of Dwayne Wade’s son, PG Zaire Wade, joining the team as a walk-on ($).
Juwan Howard looks like he’s building a recruiting powerhouse.
