When looking at high school football recruits, there are two options: college ready or not college ready. Most coaches are looking for kids that are physically built so they can get them onto the field as soon as possible, and that includes Brady Hoke. Guys like Jabrill Peppers, Bryan Mone and Michael Ferns have the chance to make an impact on the field from day one. And Michigan\’s latest offer goes out to a junior who\’s already \”college ready\”, 2015 athlete Kirk Merritt.

The 2014 SPARQ Champion is the best athlete in the class and one of the best talents in the country. So, it makes sense that Michigan would finally extend an offer. It is not yet known exactly what position they are recruiting him as, but it\’s likely as an offensive weopon that they can be featured as a tailback, receiver and return man.
As far as their chances go, the coaching staff is not one to hand out offers without a real chance at landing the recruit. That is why I believe the Wolverines stand a chance. It will all depend on if they can get him to visit Ann Arbor this fall (UTL vs Penn State, maybe?). The chance is small, but it\’s better than nothing.
