It didn’t start very well for the Wolverines as things went about as well as possible for the Wildcats. Northwestern was clicking as Michigan’s offense and defense struggled to find its groove. As the game went on, the momentum swung. Shea Patterson and Karan Higdon started catching fire while the defense locked up Clayton Thorson and the NW offense. But it took a lot longer than Michigan fans hoped.
Thanks to a deeper dip into the playbook and some big plays from Patterson’s arm and feet, Michigan was able to make its largest comeback (17 points) of the Jim Harbaugh era. The Wolverines moved to 4-1 on the season with its nice 20-17 comeback win on the road over Northwestern.
