Saying that the Michigan football coaching staff has been shy about offering recruits is the understatement of the decade. They’ve extended hundreds of offers to players all around the world (yes, world) but somehow missed to offer the top ranked player in the 2018 class. That was until today when Michigan offered Wilson (SC) DE Xavier Thomas.

Thomas is a big, physical, athletic, strong side defensive end that put his name on the map as one of the only junior campers at this summer’s The Opening. Similar to how 2017 WR Donovan Peoples-Jones did with his performance last summer.
As a top ranked player out of the south and priority recruit for most, it’ll be tough for Michigan to really get involved here. That’s especially true with a player out of South Carolina that looks to have Clemson at/near the top of his list. However, you cannot rule out the staff with so much time remaining until the 2018 NSD. So, keep an eye on Thomas going forward.
