New Michigan Man: DE Darian Roseboro

The 2015 Michigan recruiting class has been on a bit of a roll and the run has continued with the first defensive lineman commit for the class in four star defensive lineman Darian Roseboro.

At 6\’4\’\’ 285lbs, Rosbeoro is a monster lineman that dominates at the high school level and will likely contribute from day one in Ann Arbor. He has the size and athleticism (he\’s also a fullback and runs in the 4.6 range) to play the 5 technique, or even the 3 technique, similar to Chris Wormley (IMO). However, I feel like the coaches could wait and see where he will play after getting him in the weight room. With more weight and his quickness, he could become a dominant defensive tackle by his junior year. Either way, look for Roseboro to be a force in both the run and passing game throughout his Wolverine career.

After visiting for four days in April and again in July, the Lincolnton star was able to see everything that Michigan has to offer and it quickly moved the Wolverines to the top of his list, for good. However, there were rumors that distance was a big part of his recruitment and that the home state NC State Wolfpack were the dark horse to land his commitment. But, those rumors were all put to bed when he chose the Block M hat at his announcement on August 29th.

Highlights

As for the Rest of the Class

With the 11th commitment on the board, there are between 3-5 spots left in the class and just about all of those spots have prime candidates. Those candidates include DE Keisean Lucier-South, CB Marcus Lewis and TE Tyrone Wheatley Jr, as well as either/both top linebacker targets, Asmar Bilal and Osa Masina. Another name to keep an eye on, like I have been saying for awhile, is Alex Malzone\’s top target, WR Grant Perry. If you\’re looking for an outside name, keep an eye on WR Najee Clayton out of Paramus Catholic.
