Some view the satellite camp circuit, especially Michigan’s worldwide tour, as a waste of time or unnecessary. However, like always, those critics forget about the players who are attending these camps and having the chance to prove their talents to P5 programs. 2017 Raymore-Peculiar (MO) OLB Anthony Payne was one of those prospects that showed off his skills and now has his first FBS offer from Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines:

Payne, who only held offers from the likes of North Dakota State, Army and Bowling Green, has seen an uptick in his recruiting interests as of late, including the offer from Michigan.
“(My recruitment has gone) Very well, I’ve been talking to a lot of big dogs now and then Michigan just pulled the trigger and that was a game changer.” Payne said.
Receiving a game changing offer a lot of times brings a quick decision. However, Payne is going to stay patient.
“Not yet but I will talk with my parents and sort it all out and we will make a decision,” he said about having a top list of teams. “I will probably sit on it for awhile and see what happens but (Michigan) will never be out of the picture.”
Payne is being recruited by both Jim Harbaugh and Coach Bam, who are targeting him for “more of a linebacker spot” in the Michigan defense. He also plans on visiting Ann Arbor in “soon” which looks like it could be another huge moment in his recruitment.
With the offer in hand and a visit expected in the near future, Payne becomes one of the names to watch closest on the recruiting trail throughout the summer.
