Previewing Michigan’s Signing of the Stars Event

The Signing of the Stars event held tomorrow on the campus of the University of Michigan has all the markings of a Signing Day to remember. Jim Harbaugh is set to sign at least 25 players and will highlight the day with the Signing of the Stars at the Hill Auditorium from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Rumors aside, Signing of the Stars will be bigger than anything else in recent sports memory. The celebrities in attendance will introduce each signee and early enrollee of the 2016 class. The event is hosted by the University of Michigan Athletic Department who is partnering with the Players Tribune and Carhartt.

Hollywood (Fla.) Flannigan safety, Josh Metellus, is looking forward to Signing of the Stars and has one celebrity he’d want to introduce him if he could pick.

“I think it’s amazing to have a celebrity announce our signing. But if I had to choose, I’ll pick Migos,” Metellus said.

As for DT Michael Dwumfour, he is hoping former Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr would announce his signing.

The University of Michigan Athletic Department is also trying to raise awareness and funds for the Chad Tough foundation, according to MGOBLUE.com. This event is closed to the public. For those players that have signed, they will get a complete introduction to Michigan fans watching the Live Stream (http://www.theplayerstribune.com/michigan-national-signing-day-2016-live-stream/).

Signing Day Preview

Michigan is still waiting for several recruits to do decide if they will attend college in Ann Arbor. Since the event runs from 11-1, there is a chance that a few future members of the 2016 signing class have not faxed in their National Letter of Intent.

Early enrollees Devin Bush, Kingston Davis, Carlo Kemp, Sean McKeon, Ahmir Mitchell, Brandon Peters, and Kareem Walker will all be part of the Signing of the Stars ceremony. Following the ceremony, Harbaugh will meet with the media to officially comment on the newest members of the Michigan football team.
